Kyrie Irving Ready to Play Soon?

It's been obvious for a while that little information will leave Duke University regarding Irving's possibility for a return until their is a final decision. With that said, Irving has put up some big hints for a potential return. On Saturday, via twitter, Kyrie tweeted "Rehab going really well...I'm getting that feeling back!!! Yessir". And Jay Williams replied "Things might be different in Durham soon". Five hours ago Kyrie also had an eyebrow raising Facebook status: "feeling good!. ! yup yup". It's obvious that this is just Irving expressing his emotions through Social Networks, but it's these two online posts that have created the most attention from Irving's Twitter and Facebook account. It's also hard to believe that Irving would want to excite fans without being more confident about his return. Not only is it hard to imagine Irving trying to excite fans with a solid amount of confidence, but for Jay Williams to hint that "things might be different in Durham soon" is very intriguing since he is an ESPN College Basketball Analyst who wouldn't post anything without a very reliable source. Many people are speculating he may be back a game or two before the ACC Tournament, but those aren't facts. The only facts we know is that he won't play until the Duke Medical Staff feels he is 100% and that he had two very encouraging posts through Twitter and Facebook.

Plumlee chooses Duke!!

Saturday night, Marshall Plumlee announced that he will play for Duke along with his two older brothers Mason and Miles. As we posted a few weeks ago, Mason and Miles have had a huge influence on Marshall's decision. Many college basketball fans think this decision is a bit of a surprise as he almost dropped Duke off his list. But it seems that Marshall listened to you his brothers and wants to experience a National Championship. We are certainly excited as we now have an ATHLETIC 7 footer to go along with our great guard play we'll have for the next 3-4 years.

Zoubek Signs with the Nets!!

No details have been reported yet, but it's great to see a guy who worked his tail off since his freshman year in college make it to the big leagues. The 7'1" center New Jersey native wasn't drafted, but got picked up and will begin summer league play with the Nets July 5-9 in the Orlando Summer League. He will be rejoined with guess who: Lance Thomas who is also on the roster. Let's wish the best of luck to both of them!

Irving, Rivers, and Miller lead USA over Brazil

Two incoming devils, Kyrie Irving and Josh Hairston, and two possible incoming devils, Austin Rivers and Quincy Miller, helped the USA U-18 team to win the FIBA Americas U-18 championship.Irving played solid defense all game and made clutch plays while distributing the ball at key times. Hairston also played solid defense and did contribute with some buckets while just doing everything possible to help his team win including some key rebounds in the final minutes. Rivers was once again on fire looking like Steph Curry. He is extremely dangerous from behind the arc. It's crazy to imagine what a backcourt would be with Irving, Rivers, Curry, and Dawkins. Quincy Miller also had the clutch game winning three to clinch their victory over Brazil. With two incoming Duke players on the team in Kyrie Irvning and Josh Hairston mixed in with the coach Jeff Capel (former Duke player), let's hope that had a good influence on the recruiting of Quincy miller and Austin Rivers.

Duke-UNC CBS Primetime!!

This is crazy, on March 5th at 8 ET, CBS will air the Duke-UNC game on primetime. This is a first and will be very cool. Even though it will be in the Dean Dome an not in Cameron it will still be a huge game with much hype.

Coach K Summer Press Conference

He had his annual Summer Press Conference yesterday and he talked about Team USA and his summer with the team, Duke's 2010/2011 season outlook, and summer expansion gossip. He mentioned that Ryan Kelly is up to 230 and that he will be a big contributor next year. He said that he was, "not big enough last year". Kelly has worked hard to gain weight because he knows he could be the x-factor in another National Championship run.
